Maybe you have a certain amount of nostalgia for the days when you couldn’t settle any argument among friends or at a party without pulling out the powerful computer in your pocket.

All of these are examples of simple trivia-things that can be answered by simply “Googling”. If you must know the answer, seek the answer. That is within your power.
But don’t you have any nostalgia for the days when you would actually take the time to think about things, and to arrive at your best possible guess? You could have had a standing bet with a friend about the 1982 World Series, that wouldn’t be settled until later. Now, you could still make the same bet, but it could be settled instantly.
To those of us who grew up on libraries, Googling things is a great gift. My childhood self could only have dreamed of the amount of information I have, literally at my fingertips, but sometimes it makes me miserable. Look up (“search up”, as kids say) any topic, and you will be ploughed under with information. It’s not just those 3 books the library had on that one topic-it’s all the websites, and all the…
