& one day I will stand on the edge of a tall building
One day I will stand on the edge of a very tall building
toes tapping the edge, arms outstretched like wings,
slowly tipping forward, until gravity pulls-
forehead pushing aside atoms & air-
Accelerating into space, seeking earth below-
If what they say about atoms is true,
fingers and feet will pass through space-
bumping aside elements, pushing through molecules-
count me the king of atomic space.
Theory meets reality like heads meet concrete
brittle bones snap, my bone cage breaks-
the ground rises to meet me with a concrete embrace.
& one day I will stand on the edge of a tall building, look down into empty air & turn back & the solidness of the roof will hold me, unless my feet slip through the space between atoms & then I will slip through the ceiling of the apartment below & greet you as I pass-
